Together they bring something that is rarely seen — a unique dialogue in dance, shaped by the music and the connection in the embrace.
Their presence defines the entire weekend — from the seminar experience to unforgettable nights on the dance floor.
An opportunity not to be missed. We recommend securing your spot early.
ARTISTS
Mariano Chicho Frumboli and Juana Sepúlveda began dancing together in 2007 — and are now in their third decade as a partnership. Over the years they have developed a rare and distinctive dialogue in dance, built on deep mutual trust, shared musicality, and an improvisational language that continues to evolve.
Mariano Chicho Frumboli
Born in Buenos Aires, Mariano Chicho Frumboli is one of the most celebrated and innovative tango dancers of his generation. He began studying percussion at the age of 13 — a musical foundation that would later define his distinctive approach to tango. Known for his precision, rhythmic sensitivity, and creative interpretation, he has redefined the possibilities of tango on dance floors around the world.
Juana Sepúlveda
Originally from Mar del Plata, Juana Sepúlveda is recognised as one of the finest dancers in contemporary tango. Her sensitivity, elegance, and deep musical understanding have shaped a dance language entirely her own — and made her one of the most compelling presences on the tango floor today.
SEMINAR
Join Mariano Chicho Frumboli and Juana Sepúlveda for an immersive three-day seminar featuring twelve hours of high-level instruction for intermediate and advanced tango dancers. The schedule below includes a 20-minute break each day.
FRIDAY
17-20
SATURDAY

SUNDAY

The seminar explores connection, musicality and improvisation — offering a deep and inspiring journey into how we listen, respond, and create together on the dance floor. Each session is carefully designed as part of a progressive learning experience, where ideas and sensations build naturally from one class to the next, opening new layers of understanding and expression in your dance.
Participation is available through the Seminar Pass or the Full Pass. A fixed dance partner is required, and participants are expected to commit to the full three-day program.
MILONGAS
The milongas are the heart of Kavakava Tango Weekend — where music, embrace, and the joy of dancing come together. Join us on all three evenings:
FRIDAY
21-01
SATURDAY
21-02
SUNDAY
20-24
Saturday stands as the highlight of the weekend — the main evening — held in the magnificent Marble Hall (Marmorsalen), and featuring a special performance by Mariano Chicho Frumboli and Juana Sepúlveda. A moment of artistry and presence, where the depth and elegance of tango are shared at their highest expression.
The Tango DJs will be announced soon.
VENUE
The venue for Kavakava Tango Weekend is Sentralen in Oslo, centrally located with easy access to public transport.
Once the headquarters of Christiania Sparebank, the building has been transformed into a vibrant space for events, culture, and social gatherings.
The seminar and the Friday and Sunday milongas take place in the Board Room (Forstanderskapssalen) — the bank's original directors' meeting hall on the third floor, featuring wooden wall panels, elegant chandeliers, a parquet floor, and large arched windows.
Just outside, Gullbaren offers a fully licensed bar and a relaxed social atmosphere throughout the evenings — a natural meeting point between tandas.
Saturday's main evening is held in the magnificent Marble Hall (Marmorsalen) — a soaring space of authentic marble, nine-metre ceilings, and living acoustics, originally the bank's public banking hall.
